The opening sequence for the adaptation of the 1980s Japanese animated series. To pay homage to the original series, we decided to keep a 2D animated opening, with a more modern feel and a vibrant, four-color palette.

The sequence features the three sisters who, under the cover of night, spring into action to steal a work of art from a museum. The idea was to accurately portray the setting – the city of Paris – by incorporating many of its landmarks, along with the Palace of Versailles and its gardens, as the series also takes place there.

The characters and some shots were created in 3D in Blender, then integrated into backgrounds made in Adobe Illustrator, before bringing everything together in Adobe After Effects.
