A very elaborate opening sequence for this Max Originals series, featuring an edit that highlights the show’s main themes — the Camargue, the gypsy community, and the funfair — as well as the evolution of gypsy culture through the ages. The structure follows a crescendo, with a rhythm that accelerates and increasingly violent imagery to reflect the rising tension throughout the series.

We used footage from the series, Super 8 and 16mm shots, and also filmed some ourselves — notably all the macro-photography shots of flowing blood.
